Ecuador Mission Trips

Ecuador is a stunning country, home to the Amazon Rainforest on its western side and the Galapagos Islands off its coast. It lies directly on the equator and is recognized as one of the most environmentally diverse nations in the world.

Interestingly, despite its name, the Panama Hat actually originates from Ecuador. It received its association with Panama because several Ecuadorian hat makers migrated there, where they could sell their hats more widely.

This advocacy trip will begin in Quito and include visits to public orphanages in the Quito and Latacunga regions and a private home managed by For His Children. The focus will be on advocating for children who are approved for international adoption. Upon our return, we will be equipped to provide updated biographies and current photographs of these children, offering potential parents the latest information as they consider adoption.

Ecuador Trip Leader: Jennie Cooksey

My name is Jennie Cooksey. I am a mom, a wife, and the Children’s Director at Catalyst Church.

My journey began with a heart-wrenching experience during my first mission trip to China, which ignited a passion in me to advocate for adoption.

Upon returning home, my heart swelled with hope as I learned that some of the children we advocated for on our trip were soon adopted. This sparked a deeper commitment to advocacy as I began visiting children approved for adoption to gather firsthand updates on their personalities and preferences and to capture updated photos.

Now, fast forward to the present—I find myself in Ecuador, continuing the mission to advocate for children approved for adoption, giving a voice to the voiceless.
