UGANDA MISSION TRIP BACKGROUND:

Uganda is An East African country bordered by South Sudan, DRC, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Kenya, Uganda is often associated with violence, abject poverty, child soldiers, and widespread communicable diseases. According to the 2012 UNICEF in Uganda report, the country is, however, experiencing growth in development – “The under-five mortality rate is dropping steadily, families are rising above the poverty line, and the economy is growing.” With a population over 33 million, half of Ugandan’s are under the age of 18 and 1.2 million are estimated to be orphaned by AIDS alone. Less than half of the child population is protected from malaria and Uganda continues to be ranked as one of the 30 countries in the world with the highest death rate of children under 5 years of age.

Storyteller Mission teams will be working to combat these statistics, visiting our orphanage and ministry partners in the country.

FROM OUR TEAM LEADER:

The purpose of this trip to Uganda is to love others and deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ. While there we will have the opportunity to visit orphanages and have the privilege of partnering with local pastors to reach the youth and young adults of Uganda. Uganda has the largest youth population in the world, 77% of the population is under 30 years old. Please join me in praying for this team and local pastors who desperately desire our partnership in delivering the gospel to the youth of Uganda.
