Ethiopia Mission Trip – Cornett

Estimated Cost: $3,100 - $3,300
Team Leader: Tracy Cornett
About the Leader:
Hello, my name is Tracy Cornett. I absolutely love Ethiopia and everything about it. My first trip was in ’09 when we adopted our son from there. That trip forever changed my life. I fell in love with the people and the culture. In 2012, I traveled back to Ethiopia on a mission trip to serve in Korah. This place will forever have my heart. In October 2019 I took my 12-year-old daughter on this trip to minister to the girls of Bete Hosanna. She too fell in love and didn’t want to come home. Each trip has forever shaped me and God has used each one to do major faith-building. This is why I often say, “Ethiopia doesn’t need me, I need Ethiopia.”
My husband and I have 4 kiddos ranging from 10-20 and we live outside of Nashville, TN. I am a homeschool mom that loves adventure, traveling and enjoys spending time in the refugee community in Nashville. I have been so transformed by my experiences in Ethiopia that I want everyone to experience it! One of my favorite things about Ethiopia is the daily dependence on God. God truly is their daily bread!
On this trip, we will get to minister to the girls that have aged out of the gov’t orphanage and are currently living at Bete Hosanna. We will get to do a daily Bible study with them and encourage them as they prepare for adult life. We will visit orphanages and other ministries in the capital as well. I know that God has incredible plans for this trip and all that he equips to come. I pray for each member of this team as we seek to show Jesus to everyone we encounter! If you are intrigued please prayerfully consider joining us on this life-changing adventure!
Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
With a population of over 91 million people, there is an assorted collection of food, languages, customs and people groups. Ethiopia also contains a diverse landscape, including parts of the Nile River and the Great Rift Valley. As an East African landlocked country, Ethiopia is bordered by Somalia, Kenya, Sudan, Eritrea, and Djibouti.
Ethiopia, an ancient Christian nation, has deep-rooted Ethiopian Orthodox customs and practices. The Judaic-Christian roots of Ethiopia can be found in both the Hebrew and Christian scriptures. Today, about half the population of Ethiopia is Christian.
Ethiopia is a country that is about twice the size of Texas and has an estimated 4.3 million orphans. The children are primarily orphaned due to poverty, and live in both government-run and privately established orphanages. The need is great in Ethiopia.
America World partners with many orphanages in Ethiopia. It is at these orphanages that our One Orphan teams visit and work to help provide education, resources, and support for the on-going care provided by the orphanage staff.
* This is a general estimate of the overall trip cost per person. The costs are all-inclusive and intended to cover all traveling expenses, including international airfare. Our missions staff work diligently to keep the trip costs as low as possible.
