Young champions spotlight: Making a difference one piece at a time
Today we are featuring one of our “young champions.” A Young champion is exactly what it sounds like: youth on a mission, kids and teens using their connections and talents to better the lives of other kids and teens. Sloane has been using her jewelry-making talents (and we really mean talent, her pieces are beautiful) to give to our Bete Hosanna home for some time now. In her words:
“I have started my jewelry making endeavor to start saving money for my future as well as raise funds for an amazing non-profit in Ethiopia called Bete Hosanna House. Me and my family have been supporting them for a while. It is a home for young ladies who age out of an orphanage and have nowhere to go but into homelessness or prostitution among other things. This home offers them a safe place to go live and learn a trade and how to prepare for life on their own. A portion of my proceeds will be supporting Bete Hosanna “Hosanna House”. For more info click here. I am also saving for my future doing something I love! To browse and shop please go my page to “media” or “albums” on the bar above to see pictures and claim jewelry. For additional questions or orders, please DM or I can be reached via e-mail at sloanemelodiedesigns@gmail.com.”
Sloane was recently able to give a donation of more than $200 to the home. We are challenged by her diligence and excited to see where her passions take her. We challenge everyone to look for creative ways to get involved and make a difference in the lives of others.
