Welcoming Angels Pilot Program Delayed Until Spring 2011
The Maryland pilot program for Welcoming Angels has been delayed until Spring 2011 in order to give families more time to apply. I’m encouraged by the level of interest in this new ministry for older orphans. Thanks to all who have come out to the Maryland information sessions. At this point, there are a few families on board but we need several more, especially in the Baltimore region, to join with us. Ten children, ages 6-14, have been selected to travel from Ethiopia to Maryland to live with Christian host families for 4 weeks in 2011. If you live in Maryland and have an interest in becoming a host family for an Ethiopian orphan, please contact the Welcoming Angels director, Mary Noble, at mary.noble@awaa.org.
I invite you to visit me tonight at a free R.O.C.K.concert (Reaching Orphans for Christ’s Kingdom) being held at Uniontown Bible Church in Union Bridge, Maryland from 7 – 9 p.m. This event, sponsored by Called to Care Ministries, will raise awareness of the needs of orphans worldwide. Several musical groups will perform, including a children’s choir from Uganda. Come by the America World table and learn more about Welcoming Angels.
