Former Foster Child Surprises News Anchor Advocate
Gloria Campos, news anchor for WFAA in Texas, has been host of a weekly segment called “Wednesday's Child” since 1989, which features foster children who are waiting to be adopted. She has shared the stories of about 350 children, and an estimated 75% have found homes!
Ke'onte Cook was on the show at age eight, but unfortunately the adoption that followed did not work out and he ended up going in and out of multiple homes for the next two years. Gloria advocated for him once again, and Ke'onte was adopted by his loving parents Scott & Carol Cook.
It's exciting to share a positive and heartwarming adoption story amidst the negative press or discouraging news about adoption. Enjoy this video of Gloria Campos' last broadcast, commemorating her committment to advocating for foster children, which has a special surprise for her!
