Waiting Child, “Mason”: Update & Video from China
We advocated for “Mason” in February and he still waits for his forever family.
“Mason” is a gentle and sweet 4-year-old boy with a bright smile. He is currently living in the special care section of the orphanage because of his susceptibility to fractures. This little guy seems to be full of so much potential!
He enjoys eating porridge, milk, and snacks such as fruit and cakes. His language development is delayed, but he can understand a lot of what his caregivers say and has learned some simple words such as ‘mom’, ‘aunt’, ‘want’, and ‘hello’. He is a very good-natured child and always smiles at visitors. Mason loves attention and also loves it when someone plays with him. He enjoys playing with toy cars and being outdoors.
Mason has been diagnosed with osteopsathyrosis, also known as “Brittle Bone Disease.” This is a condition where an individual’s bones are more fragile, weak and more easily susceptible to fractures. He has had multiple fractures and sadly, because of this, his mobility is limited in order to protect him. He would greatly benefit from additional medical treatment and the individualized care and attention of a family.
In addition, Mason’s file notes that he has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, osteoporosis, malnutrition and his lab work results on the Hepatitis B panel would need to be confirmed by physicians.
Please take a few minutes to consider how God would have you be a part of helping this precious child, whether that is through praying, advocating, or inquiring to learn more.
