Update on India

Unfortunately, India’s central adoption authority has announced that they will delay receiving new dossiers to their office through the remainder of the year.  The correspondence our agency received today from CARA said, “This is to inform you that due to administrative reasons it would not be possible for CARA to receive dossiers for inter-country adoption for a further period up to 31.12.2011 or until further orders.† 

Previously, CARA indicated that new dossiers would be accepted in October 2011.  The reason given for this delay is that the adoption authority stated they want to clear the pending cases that are currently being processed.

Our agency is committed to additional prayers for those families who are currently building dossiers and are informed from today’s news of a slowdown.
