Upcoming China Waiting Child Referrals
This year is off to a busy start in the China Waiting Child Program! In January, America World received 17 referrals and continue to anticipate many children’s files to be ready in the coming weeks.
We are excited to share that 20 files from one of our orphanage partnerships are in process and we anticipate to receive these file in the next few weeks or less. The group includes 13 boys and 7 girls, ages 12 months- 5 ½ years with a wide variety of medical needs.
We will not know the full scope of each child’s medical needs until we have the complete files and are able to fully review their paperwork including their full medical files. Families not currently in the process of adopting with America World, but are interested in adoption should fill out a quick free PRE-APPLICATION and our Intake staff will follow up with you regarding your eligibility to pursue an adoption from China.
For those interested in adopting a boy, now is a great time to consider a boy of any age from China as our wait times are at an all-time low for families open to boys with needs commonly seen in China. We continue to match our families open to boys very quickly and currently it is an average of 10-18 months from starting your process to arriving back home with your son! The current timeframe at AWAA for girls, based on commonly seen medical needs, is 10-24 months on average from starting the process to coming home with your daughter. (based on a 6 month average dossier building timeframe). Families who are currently in our China waiting child program are given first priority for matching before we advocate for any children.
