University of Virginia Nursing Students at Ethiopia Transitional Home

UVA Nurses ACT

This summer two graduate students from the University of Virginia’s nursing school spent several weeks at America World’s transition home in Ethiopia.  During their time at the TH their efforts were focused on caring for children who have special needs and creating exercises and stimulation to address those needs.

Since arriving back in the United States the students have written a paper and poster about their time with the special needs children and their implementation of a daily exercise routine for them.  They have been asked to submit this poster to a Clinical Nurse Leadership summit through the American Association of Colleges of Nursing that will be held in January 2015.

We are grateful for the time the students spent caring for children at our Transitional Home this summer and wish them the best in their academic and professional pursuits!
