TBRI Training Opportunity – Huntsville, TX
America World—Texas (AWAA-TX) is excited to help provide a TBRI training at Fellowship of Huntsville Church in Huntsville, Texas, February 21-23 called Connecting with Kids for Change. This training was used last year and trainers were asked to host another training this year based on the wonderful feedback and need for the material.
We are proud to have Beth Primm, LMSW, one of AWAA-TX Home Study Coordinators to help teach the event. Beth helps AWAA-TX serve our Houston and surrounding areas adoptive families, and has been with AWAA-TX since 2006. She would love to meet you.
TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. TBRI uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors.
While the intervention is based on years of attachment, sensory processing, and neuroscience research, the heartbeat of TBRI is the connection TBRI has been applied in orphanages, courts, residential treatment families, group homes, foster, and adoptive homes, churches and schools.
This course is ideal for teachers, child care workers, CASAs, ministry leaders, parents, grandparents and anyone who works with kids who struggle behaviorally.
TBRI has been used effectively with children and youth of all ages and risk levels and provides insight as to why children behave the way they do as well as multiple practical applications to help both caregiver and child.
CEU’s are provided by America World Adoption and childcare is provided by local college students on a limited basis. The cost is $30 which will help cover the cost of the food and materials. Scholarships are available.
