I wanted to take a moment to share with you about an adoption resource and AWAA partner agency. For the past several years The Shepherd’s Crook has worked with the China Program to help advocate for waiting children. The Shepherd's Crook Ministries is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to supporting adoptive families in a variety of ways. Specifically, the organization acts as a support to any families adopting special-needs or waiting children through agencies affiliated with the ministry. Some ways they are able to help families are through prayer and moral support during the process, adoption resources, fund-raising assistance, and through a great email support group of other families who have adopted a waiting child. Families adopting special-needs or waiting children through AWWA who are interested in this support can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Families interested in learning more about The Shepherd’s Crook can visit their website at http://theshepherdscrook.org/. The Shepherd's Crook has support programs set up for certain countries only, due to their somewhat limited volunteer staff; thus, not every program/country AWAA has is eligible for assistance through The Shepherd's Crook. However, I hope you can visit their website to learn more about the agency and the services they can provide to adoptive parents.
