Note From CEO

The last two weeks have been quite busy for me.  I attended a fundraiser for Orphan's Ticket Home in San Antonio, Texas where I had the privilege of meeting with a number of America World's adoptive parents.  The fundraiser was a great success and our agency is very grateful for the volunteers that helped organize and make this dinner a success.  If your family or church would like to help organize a fundraiser or dinner, please contact Amanda and let her know.
 
This past Tuesday and Wednesday, our senior staff had a Strategic Planning and Budget Retreat, in preparation for 2009.  We set new short-term goals and revised long-term goals in accordance with our agency's mission of building families according to God's plan of adoption.  I'm really excited about our plans for next year.  At last night's Board of Directors meeting, I officially submitted our agency's proposed 2009 budget to the Board of Directors and they’ll review and approve a final budget this month.
 
I know that many families are excited about the holidays, but I'm also very mindful that this can be a very hard time for those that have been waiting longer than expected for a child.  My thoughts and prayers are with you this Advent season.
