Team America World: Last Week Before Race!
We are officially in our final week before race day Team America World! We got our shirts in this week and are ready to head down to Texas.
In previous posts, we have talked about the post-adoption services and China orphanage initiatives the team is raising money for. In post, I want to highlight the 3rd initiative which is the Baby Tesfanesh Fund for medical care for children in Ethiopia.
Back on January 29th, 2015 we introduced you to a new fund that America World had created in memory of Baby Tesfanesh, a medically fragile child that was brought to our transition home and died shortly after arrival due to many medical needs.
We continue to care for children like baby Tesfanesh that are brought to our transition home by the Ethiopian government. Donations made to our Baby Tesfanesh Fund directly impact our ability to care for these medically fragile children. Many children come to our transition home severely malnourished, some we are able to save and some we are not. With the money in this fun, we are increasing the number of children that are given a chance at life through America World’s transition home and our orphanage partners.
It is a difficult reality that young children are fighting for their lives in Ethiopia, but with your help we can save the lives of many of these children through medical services seen as normal in the U.S. With treatment, these children can go on to live full and “normal” lives!
There is still time to support Team America World by praying for our race day, donating to our funds, and sharing this message with your family and friends who may be interested!
If you live in the New Braunsfel, Texas area, we would also love to have you come out and cheer us on during the race. There are a number of volunteer spots still open for the Chosen team.
