Support Group for Transracial Adoptees, Ages 13-18

This summer, America World Adoption is beginning a 4 week virtual support group for transracial adoptees, ages 13-18. For many young adoptees, finding a space to connect with fellow adoptees can be challenging. The group will be a safe, fun, and open space for teens to explore issues of racial identity, loss, and belonging, as well as the current events related to racial issues and how that relates to their racial identity development. The group will be led by Samantha Fuhrman, LMSW, an ACT coach, adoption-competent therapist, and transracial adoptive parent.

The support group will be help on Wednesday nights ( 7/15, 7/22, 7/29, 8/5) at 8 pm EST (7 CST, 6 MTN, 5 PST)

The cost of the group is $100 for the 4 week group.  Registration and payment for the session is due by 5:00 pm EST the day prior to the first session (7/7).  Email ACT@awaa.org, or call 800-429-3369, to register or for more information.
