State Department Mail-in Service Processing Times Increase

For families who wish to use mail-in service for the authentication of documents at the State Department, please note that the wait time has increased from 4 weeks to 2-3 months due to extreme backlog at the Authentications office. 

AWAA offers families an alternative option for authenticating their documents at the State Department by providing a courier service.  By using AWAA’s courier service, this will provide a shortened processing time of 1-2 weeks from the time we receive your documents, until they are mailed back.  For more information on AWAA’s courier service, please speak with your Family Coordinator.
