Social Service Travel Fees

Dear America World Families,

It has been several years since we made any changes to the travel fees associated with social service visits.  With the increase in fuel costs and the need to compensate our social workers appropriately we have made the following change to our current travel fee schedule: 

Effective February 1st, travel fees will be calculated based on the 2009 IRS standard mileage rate of 55 cents per mile for visits that exceed 20 miles roundtrip.  In the event that an overnight stay is required, a per diem rate of $100 will be added to the mileage rate to cover the social worker’s meals and hotel expenses.
