Down Syndrome Adoption
Shelby is a cute 13-year-old girl with a big smile, long, shiny dark hair and a sweet smile. Shelby has Down syndrome as well as a minor heart abnormality that requires no intervention. She is otherwise in excellent health and has good muscle tone.
She has a mild intellectual delay which mostly impacts her speech and social skills. Shelby can speak but it can be difficult to understand her. She strings together 3-4 words in both English and Telugu. She can write letters, numbers, and shapes and has very neat handwriting. Additionally, she is able to follow simple instructions and is able to take care of herself.
She is described by her caregivers as quiet, friendly, comical, obedient, sweet-tempered and hard working. It is also noted that she has a unique fashion sense and likes to choose her own outfits. She is coordinated and does well playing sports and games including basketball and hula hoop.
Please help us to spread the word about Shelby as she does not have much longer to be placed for international adoption.
