“Sarah”: An Amazing Family Needed for an Amazing Girl!
“Sarah” is a beautiful 7-year old little girl in need of a family. She is in a Love Without Boundaries school and America World has had several Storyteller Missions team members meet her in October 2014 & June 2015.
“Sarah” has been diagnosed with lower limb paralysis and postoperative VSD. “Sarah” seems to be gaining weight and growing stronger physically every day. She recently got a wheelchair provided by Love Without Boundaries and is enjoying more mobility.
One Storyteller Missions team member who was able to spend quality time with “Sarah” had this to say about her:
“Words cannot express the special place that Sarah has in my heart. On a recent trip to her orphanage I met her. Each child was special and unique and will never be forgotten by our group. However, God placed specific children on each of our hearts and we've become passionate about advocating for families for them. Sarah is that child for me personally. For the past 10 months she has been in my constant thoughts and prayers. After returning from our trip my family sponsored her through Love Without Boundaries for an educational scholarship. I have been delighted with each update to see her gaining weight and growing stronger physically and having more mobility with the wheelchair provided by Love Without Boundaries. Dull little eyes 10 months ago have become bright and filled with joy. I believe her access to education is opening up meaning and joy that was lacking last year. She was so eager to learn and to try and communicate with me.
The first day I was in her room I brought a simple shape puzzle toy to her crib to play with her. I began to show her how the puzzle worked and since I speak no Mandarin I started naming the shapes in English. To my amazement she copied what I said in almost perfect English. She quickly learned the word for each shape- square, triangle, star.. I was so shocked and she was so thrilled to keep showing me how smart she truly was. That particular day we had a newspaper reported in the orphanage shadowing us to cover our visit. She was bilingual and came over to see when she heard Sarah naming the shapes. She was really surprised and affirmed her for what she had learned. She told me “she learns English faster than me”, it made all of us smile. On the last day we were given the chance to go to any room we chose. I went to see Sarah and she wanted the puzzle again and began to show me that she remembered the shapes. She is so very bright and deserves a chance to grow and flourish in a family. Nothing could stop this little girl if she was given the chance to blossom in a loving family. I would be happy to speak with any perspective families. I cannot say enough about this amazing little girl.”
