Russia Program
November 23, 2007

One America World family is currently in Nizhny Novgorod for their first trip. We would like to ask for prayer for this family, for safe travel home. America World continues to see movement among the various regions and will keep families informed with any news or progress.

Historically we have seen fewer girls available for adoption than boys and the timeframe to adopt girls to be greater than adopting boys. Families in the process should be aware that we continue to see this pattern and it appears that that the availability of girls is continuing to decrease. Families seeking to adopt a girl should expect lengthened wait times due to the lack of girls available.

America World would like to request prayer for a few specific families adopting from a particularly difficult region in Russia. These families have been in the process for some time and have encountered multiple delays due to accreditation and regional politics. At this time the families are waiting to complete rescheduled court dates to finalize their adoptions, with two families currently in Russia. Due to the significant difficulties presented by regional authorities, America World would ask for prayer for God's intervention to allow the families to finalize their adoptions and bring their children home.
