Remember “Gia”?

Gia 1

We introduced you to "Gia" last month. She is a 1-year old with a congenital heart defect and a cleft palate. Love Without Boundaries is helping Gia with nutrition and getting her surgery.

Many inquired about adopting sweet "Gia" into their family and we are excited to announce that "Gia" now has a forever family! Join us in thanking God for matching her with her family.

Right now there are many children in China, like "Gia", who have minor correctable medical needs and they are waiting for families. Many times these children have already benefited from corrective surgeries to repair cleft lip and cleft palate or other needs. A waiting child from China can be home with your family in as little as 12 months. A family interested in being matched with a young child or a child with minor needs should start the process now in order to be eligible to be matched with these children when their files arrive in our office.

If you are interested in pursuing the adoption of a waiting child from China, we encourage you to visit our China Waiting Child page to learn more. Note that the children currently on the China Waiting Children pages are often children with more moderate to severe needs who have not been matched directly with families. Most minor medical needs children are matched immediately with families already in our program when their files are received. Most often, children being advocated for are considered Special Focus children by China. Special Focus children are available to families at any stage of the adoption process.

If you have questions, our China staff would be happy to speak with you. Please contact us at china@awaa.org or call 800-429-3369 for more information.
