Post-Adoption Reporting 2019: Future Adoptions Depend On It
Earlier this month, the Department of State issued a notice about Kazakhstan adoptions continuing to be suspended, in part because of the lack of post-adoption reports. You can see that notice at this link:
So we are reaching out again to raise awareness about the importance of Post-Adoption Reporting! Post-adoption reporting is vital to the future of international adoptions as both foreign countries and the Department of State look closely at the compliance of reporting as a measure of the overall success of international adoption.
The adoption of future generations of orphaned children around the world is greatly influenced by the post-adoption report of American families today.
If you, or someone you know, adopted from Kazakhstan, please continue to turn in annual self-reports until the child turns 18, according to the instructions in the above-linked notice.
Please note the other countries, like Ukraine and Ethiopia, have similar requirements of turning in annual reports till the child is 18 years old. It is vital that these reports are done so that adoptions from these countries can resume and/or grow!
We are more than happy to help with your reports, and, as always, if you are struggling in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! Call 800-429-3369 or email us at PostAdoption@awaa.org .
