Physical/Occupational Therapy Mission Trip to Haiti
Join America World for a Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy focused mission trip to Haiti!
One of America World Adoption’s orphanage partners is home to 30+ children who have a wide range of special needs. There is a great need for assistance with physical and occupational therapy for the children, as the orphanage’s resources are limited. Various exercises, interaction, sensory toys and play are incredibly helpful to the children’s development and well being.
We are looking for individuals to join a short-term mission trip from June 9-15, 2014. The team will be visiting the orphanage for the purpose of serving children with special needs. There are three individuals scheduled to come on the trip and one of the women is a physical therapist so she will be sharing her expertise in this area. We would like for other therapists to come as well, but anyone is welcome. No experience is necessary, just a heart for children with special needs. There are many ways to serve and we would love to have you join the team!
The team will stay at the America World Adoption guesthouse, where fees would cover breakfast and dinner, accommodations, transportation & translation services. The in-country cost per person is $750 plus an airport pick up/drop off fee of $40 per person round trip. All team members are asked to book their flights on their own. We will tell you the flight number for the flight into Port-au-Prince so everyone can arrive in country together.
Feel free to pass this along to your friends, churches and others you may know who would like to serve in this way.
Please let us know if you are interested in this trip and we will provide you with more information! If you would like to learn more, please email Aimee Wilson.
