One Orphan: to Uganda and Ethiopia and back
It has been a busy summer for the One Orphan ministry of America World! Our teams have intentionally traveled to Ethiopia, Haiti and Uganda to be advocates for children. Advocacy takes on many forms during our time on the ground. In Ethiopia teams have been able to share the positives of international adoption with decision-making leaders. Teams have also had the chance to provide support, supplies and friendship to partnership orphanages.
Recently Joe Wilson, executive director for One Orphan, had the opportunity to take a group to both Ethiopia and Uganda in the same trip. While there, they visited with and encouraged our various partnerships. With first hand knowledge of the needs the team then came home as advocates for children who need sponsorship and support. We are so thankful for the way they have spoken up and advocated for their new friends! Additionally, the team was able to assess emergency needs and provide support and funding for much needed nutritional support at several of the partnerships.
There are so many ways to get involved with our orphan advocacy and support efforts. You can learn more about sponsorship in Ethiopia here and in Uganda as well by clicking here. Perhaps your next step is to GO with One Orphan to meet our precious friends and become an advocate yourself! Click here to view upcoming trips to India, Haiti, Ethiopia and Uganda.
But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand.
The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.
