Could precious Oliver be your son? A Loving Ambassador team recently met him in China.
Oliver is described as a bright, positive, handsome 9-year-old boy with a ready smile. His caretakers explain the way his eyes light up and crinkle when he smiles. A Loving Ambassador team recently got to spend some time with Oliver and described him as outgoing, sunny, happy, and sweet and noted that he’s a very smart boy with a good memory. His dream is to be an artist, and he loves to draw and build. Oliver has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and though he currently relies on the use of a wheelchair, he is able to independently propel and maneuver himself to get around and participate in activities with the other children. He can also stand and take some steps with bracing or assistance, though he fatigues quickly. The team observed that Oliver is persistent to accomplish any task given, and he demonstrates good cognitive, problem-solving, and fine-motor skills. He is able to recite short poems and communicate in short sentences in both Chinese and English, as well as use and understand some sign language. Oliver responds to and is encouraged by positive reinforcement and works very hard to please. Team members were touched by his happy, interactive nature and his drive to succeed. The doctor who examined Oliver noted that while he has some motor limitations, he is very smart and would progress quickly with a loving family, rehab, and good medical care. He will be a huge blessing!
