Meet the Team Leader: Julie Morano
My name is Julie Morano and I am leading a mission trip to Haiti through America World’s ACT Mission department February 15-22, 2014. I live in Utah with my husband Aaron and my three children, Skyler, Sasha, and Sydney. I work as a Groups Instructor for a local charter school and teach breakout groups in reading and math.
I am really excited for this opportunity to lead a mission trip to Haiti. I feel that God has prepared me for this time and journey as he has prepared my heart through other serving opportunities and through my higher education goals in social work. Haiti holds a special place in my heart, not only because we are currently in the adoption process there, but also because the country stole my heart in April 2013 when I first had the opportunity to travel and serve there.
During my 2013 trip I was able to visit three crèches in Haiti and I was forever changed. There is an indescribable joy I felt while I was there which I believe is because you just get to love others without anything holding you back. I believe there is no experience in life that can compare to a mission trip like this and no matter your experience, you will never regret the decision to say yes to God!
Our team in February will stay at the America World guest house in Port-au-Prince, spending our days serving at some of America World’s partner orphanages and working on various projects. If you have a desire upon your heart to go on a short term missions trip then we need you for this trip to Haiti!
Those interested in applying for this or any missions trip in 2014 can fill out an application online through America World’s website. If you have any questions please feel free to call or email missions@awaa.org.
