Meet the Team Leader: Daniel Manuel
Hello sisters and brothers! My name is Daniel Manuel and I’m excited to be a part of going on an ACT trip to Ethiopia in December 2014. I’ll be 40 years old in February and despite travel to Europe, Mexico, and various places in the United States, I’ve never lived, worked, gone to school, or gone to church more than 8 miles from the hospital where I was born. You can say the same thing for Janel, my lovely bride of 20 years. Janel and I currently have two children. Grace Elizabeth is 10 and Blaise Covenant is 6. I’m a very adventurous person that appreciates God’s creations and desires to honor Him in all I do even though I mess it up plenty.
Why do I feel qualified for a leadership role for this trip? Well, I had no idea at the time, but I can look back and see where God has been using multiple learning opportunities to prepare me for this. In 2009 & 2010 I went to London as an adult chaperone with an organization called iGo Global. I went to Paris in 2012 and Denver in 2013 with the same group. My passion for missions only grows stronger every year. In regards to leadership, I’ve benefited from multiple classes, workshops, and seminars ranging from fire service related to when I received my graduate degree for administration/school principal this past May. In my current position at the fire department, I am responsible for risk reduction education for the public, in house training for fire fighters, and responding to emergency and non emergency calls. Besides this, I’ve served as a sponsor multiple times with our youth at church camp. I’m looking forward to the blessing of meeting all of our team members.
If you would like to join us on this very special mission trip December 26 – Jan 4, 2015 we invite you to apply today!
