Meet our India program staff!
We are blessed with an amazing team of women who work very hard on behalf of the families and children in our India adoption program. This program has remained very stable through the pandemic years and is actively seeking families who will step forward for waiting children. Please take a moment to get to know the precious team and reach out to our intake department with any and all questions, we look forward to serving you.
Lisa Adams Reese: India Program Director
Since I was a small child I have always been deeply dependent on God’s direction for my life and I know God positioned me here at AWAA to accomplish His purpose in my life. I have a deep-rooted passion for the orphaned children in India, especially the children identified with special needs who hold a particularly dear place in my heart. I believe God placed that on my heart long ago and I appreciate that AWAA shares my commitment that orphaned children find safe and loving Christian homes. Additionally, AWAA believes it is our responsibility to support families throughout the adoption process in good times and bad times, and to provide them with the resources which will enable them to become successful parents. It continues to be such an honor to be able to work with families and to be a part of their joys, concerns, disappointments and ultimately see them complete their family through adoption. Without a doubt this is my personal “why” for continuing to serve at America World.
Mindy Davis: Assistant Program Director India
America World has been a place where I’ve had the chance to really work as a team alongside other believers with the same heart and mission – to place waiting children into loving families. Being able to work with other believers allows us all to know that at the end of the day we are all working together for the same end goal. We want to glorify the Lord with our work and help place the lonely in families. And in every position I’ve worked at AWAA, I feel like my opinion and perspective has been appreciated. I’m not just another associate who can step in to do the day’s work. I’m a valued member of the team, where we can all step up and contribute to the organization together. Working in international adoption is something I have felt specifically called to do for most of my life. I’m thankful that I’ve found my place to act on this calling with America World!
Anneli Johnson: Senior Family Coordinator India
What is my “why” for serving with America World? I ask myself this question a lot on the difficult days. My “why” always comes down to knowing that the Lord has called me to do this work. Ever since my family adopted my sister from China almost 20 years ago, I had this strong desire to make a difference in the lives of children who were in need of a family. It is not just a job for me, but my passion to see children placed in forever families where they will be loved and cherished. It makes is all worth it when you see a child home and thriving with their family.
Adoption is needed because we live in a broken and fallen world. I wish adoption was not needed because that would mean that there are no orphans in the world. As long as there are orphans, there is a need for adoption and for children to be placed in loving and permanent homes. I am so thankful to be able to play a small role in the life of a child.
