Meet 7-Year Old “Nate” From China!
Nate is a precious boy with a big smile and an outgoing personality. Nate’s need is postoperative hydrocephalus. He received shunt surgery at the age of 3 and his head size has not grown since then. He has a weakness on the right side of his body and he uses his left hand to write and eat.
An America World Storyteller team visited this orphanage in June 2015 and spent a lot of time with Nate. Our Storyteller team noted that Nate is fearless on the playground equipment and he is determined to do anything that other children can do. Though he’s an active boy, the team also noted that he loves to sit in someone’s lap and be hugged and he likes to hold hands with an adult when he walks.
The team also noted that he is a smart boy who learns quickly and he loves to draw and has a big imagination. We have updated information and photos on Nate and we can connect anyone reviewing a file with Storyteller team members who have met him.
Nate is on the CCCWA's shared list. He is designated by the CCCWA as a special focus file and he is not from one of our agency’s orphanage partnerships. A family at any stage of the process is eligible to review this file.
Current America World families who are interested in welcoming Nate into their family through adoption should contact their Family Coordinator about him.
Families who are not currently in the process of adopting with America World should fill out a free PRE-APPLICATION and our Intake staff will follow up with you right away.
Any questions about Nate or any Waiting Child can be directed to our China staff at WaitingChildren@awaa.org or 800-429-2269.
