Masks & Medical Supplies for Orphans in China
Wuhan. The city in China that has been the focus of our newsfeeds and the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak. As an agency whose mission is to build families according to God’s design of adoption while caring for vulnerable children around the world, we must act during a time in which children’s lives are being impacted by this virus, but we cannot do this alone. Reports estimate over 28,000 confirmed cases worldwide with over 500 reported deaths related to this illness, with the majority occurring in China. The virus is spreading quickly within China and they are in need of anti-viral masks and certain supplies.
In the middle of this outbreak, it is important that we do not fail to remember and pray for the thousands of vulnerable children living in orphanages and regions being most impacted in China. In an effort to help protect these precious children and their caregivers, America World is collecting child-sized medical masks as well as adult masks for orphanage staff and we need your help!
How can you join us to provide aid to these vulnerable children? Here are several ways you, your church, your small group, or friends and family can join and get involved:
- Make a donation to AWAA towards the purchase of masks, medical supplies, and shipping expenses to China- AWAA China Medical Supply Relief Fund
- Make an online purchase of disposable adult or children’s face masks and have them shipped directly to AWAA (address/info below) ¹
- Check your local stores for adult or children’s medical masks and ship them to America World ²
- If you are a medical professional and have access to masks or know of any distribution centers that provide masks in bulk, please reach out to our staff at email@example.com.
¹ Address: 6723 Whittier Avenue, Suite 202, McLean, VA 22101
² Deadline to receive shipments at AWAA is Thursday, February 13th and February 20th
The time is short! Medical masks are increasingly difficult to find in stock online at this time and we need to ship these to our staff in China as soon as possible. We will be shipping medical supplies this week and plan to send shipments again on Friday, February 14th and 21st. We are so grateful for your support in responding to this urgent need.
Please join us in continuing to pray for our staff in China, our China team stateside, individuals who are being impacted by this virus, and for medical professionals attending to the sick, during a time of fear and uncertainty in their country. We know that God is the Great Physician and we trust and rest in His care and sovereignty over China and these precious children’s lives.
NOTE: If shipping masks to AWAA, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to confirm what you will be sending and the quantity so that we can best plan for future shipments to China.
