America World currently has two families in two different regions of Kazakhstan who accepted the referral of children this week and are currently completing their visitation requirements. America World also had one dossier submitted to the Consulate. America World continues to monitor the situation with post placement review, but has received unofficial information that the concern about potential negative consequences on the process may be lessening.

America World received information this week that Kazakhstan will no longer accept prospective adoptive parents who are 50 years old or older. America World also received information that Kazakhstan is considering unofficially halting adoptions by singles, and may make the process more difficult for singles trying to adopt. Due to this change, America World will no longer be accepting applications from singles.
