January Update – Referrals, Dossier Review, & the Wait Time
Referrals
The CCAA has finished the placement of children for families whose dossiers were registered with their office before February 28, 2006. The CCAA processed 6 days of LID’s (Feb. 23-28, 2006) for January referrals. (referrals were sent to agencies the last week of December) Since America World did not have any more Log in Dates for February of 2006, we did not receive any January non-special needs referrals.
America World’s next LID group to be matched is 3/1/06, and we anticipate for families in this LID group, to receive their referrals in the next batch of referrals sent by the CCAA.
America World has the following March LID’s:
• March 1, 2006
• March 7, 2006
• March 13, 2006
• March 16, 2006
• March 22, 2006
• March 24, 2006
• March 28, 2006
Dossiers Reviewed
Dossiers logged in during March of 2007 are still under review. Currently, the CCAA has finished the review of the adoption application documents (dossiers) registered with their office before February 28, 2007. The timeframe for the review process will vary as it is based upon the number of dossiers that are logged in during the particular month that is currently under review.
Wait Time
The current wait from LID to referral is 35-36 months and increasing. This represents the wait time for families who will be receiving a referral in the next 1-2 months. (March 1, 2006 LID’s) For families with LID dates after that time, the wait time trend continues to increase half a month to a full month each month.
Families are encouraged to calculate their wait time as a projected estimation, knowing there is no way to predict the actual wait time for each family. The wait time changes as it is based on the number of LID’s from around the world and the number of referrals that are paper-ready each month. America World will continue to report monthly wait time trends. Families should continue to anticipate a long wait for a healthy referral.
We would like to remind families that we currently have a number of Waiting Children that are available for adoption. Families interested in adopting boys, healthy older children, or children with various special needs should contact their Family Coordinator for more information. America World continues to pray for your family as you begin this new year.
