Iowa Adoption Reunion

On September 22, 2012 America World Adoption- Iowa held a
reunion in Norwalk, Iowa.  AWAA-IA has a
rich history. The organization was
originally called Gift of Love International Adoptions Inc. until changing to
America World Adoption Iowa in 2008. Over 300 clients of Gift of Love and AWAA-IA were invited to attend this
reunion.  In total, 82 joined us on a
windy September day to share food, fellowship, stories and fun. The children ranged in age from 2 to 14 years
old. Countries represented at this reunion
included Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Russia, and China. AWAA-IA Board
President, Jim Grant, grilled hot dogs for all and each family brought a dish
to share. The kids had a good time being
introduced to old friends and new. Some
of the older children from Russia pledged to find each other on Facebook and
continue the fellowship. It was a
wonderful afternoon! Many expressed
their gratitude for being brought together again and a desire to do this again
in the near future.
