Introduction to Monthly Prayer Focus

Every morning the staff of America World gathers to pray as an agency and every day the families of our different chat group pray for and encourage one another.  In October 2007, the Waiting Children Yahoo chat group began a monthly prayer focus.  This unites staff and families in joining together in prayer over a single need with in the Waiting Children program.  We would like to extend the invitation for all families to commit to prayer as a group the waiting children, adoption issues, group events, etc. each month.

“If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.” ~ Philippians 2:1-2

Thank you for being intercessors on behalf of these children and adoption related issues.  We have seen the Lord’s hand work boldly in the Waiting Children program and are eager to see all He will accomplish through our united prayers!

The focus of our prayer for the month of April is Madeline, who is currently on the Waiting Children list.  Madeline is a bright old girl who will turn 10 years old today!  She enjoys playing outside and going to school.  She has been diagnosed with an ophthalmic disease that will ultimately continue degrade her eyesight.  Madeline’s caretakers explain that because of her eyesight problem, she cannot go to the regular primary school and she has been put in a mental retardation class because there are no facilities to help her. Her teachers say, “[s]he dreams all the time to study with normal children.† She also enjoys inviting other classmates and peers to play together.
Thank you for joining America World in committing Madeline to prayer this month.  We trust that through prayer she will be placed with the family that God has prepared for her and that families who may feel lead to review her referral information will be given peace and discernment.

Please join us in celebrating Madeline’s 10th birthday today!
