International Adoption Center: TB Study Opportunity
For families living near to the Washington D.C. metro area, there is the opportunity to participate in a new study regarding testing adopted children for tuberculosis (TB). The purpose of the study is to offer a new method to test for TB that has the potential to provide more accurate results. The study is being conducted by the International Adoption Center at INOVA Fairfax Hospital for Children and the Division of Immunology at Georgetown University.
Any adopted child who has not yet been tested for TB or who has been tested and has a positive reaction with the PPD test can enroll. A family interested in enrolling would not incur any costs due to the provision of a grant to fund this study. Interested families can call the International Adoption Center at (703) 970-2651 for more information.
