Indian Waiting Child: 3-Year-Old “Louise” Needs a Family
“Louise” just celebrated her 3rd birthday. She has straight brown hair, big brown eyes, and a stunningly beautiful face. She is described by her caregivers as being friendly, playful and active. She speaks in sentences and understands how to follow simple instructions as per her age.
She has HIV for which she is receiving antiretroviral treatment (ART), as well as an ectopic left kidney.
There are many toddlers and older children in India with HIV who are waiting for forever families.
For more information regarding the adoption and care of a child with HIV, please visit our HIV Adoption resource page. Within that resource page, you will be able to listen to a webinar recorded by Dr. Patrick Van Winkle, an America World medical consultant, pediatrician, and adoptive father of a child with HIV.
If you or someone you know are praying about adopting a child with HIV, please also consider reading a blog post written by an AWAA India family regarding their decision to adopt a child with HIV.
This is a shared referral. For more information on “Louise” or to learn more about India adoptions, please contact India@awaa.org
