India Waiting Child: “Uma”
America World would like to make you aware of a specific waiting child in our India program. “Uma” is a stunning 2-year old born with an imperforated anus.
As a newborn she had a colostomy. Subsequently a pull-through operation and colostomy closure were performed. She has fully recovered from her surgeries and has no other health concerns, though we have to wait until she’s potty trained to know whether or not she will need additional surgeries.
She is attending an English-speaking preschool, loves playing with the other children and is described as a very loving, bright, happy girl who is developmentally on target.
