HIV+ India Adoption: Meet “Thomas”
ADOPTIVE FAMILIES NEEDED FOR HIV+ CHILDREN
Many of the older HIV children that we blog about are located in the same orphanages. So many of them have been waiting such a long time for a family.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to see all of these children placed into forever families? That is our longing and prayer as we advocate for these children!
ADOPTING AN OLDER HIV+ CHILD
Today, we want to introduce you to Thomas. He is a good-looking boy who is about to turn 12. Thomas is HIV+ but is otherwise healthy.
Thomas’s caregivers note that he has a good personality and positive attitude towards other children and adults.
There is limited information in his report but he is in school and is spoken to in English and Telugu. Just like many 12-year-old boys, Thomas is active and enjoys playing with other kids. He is able to draw, write and read.
He feels comfortable with his caregivers, smiling when in their presence. Thomas likes to interact with adults that come into the orphanage. He is able to express his feelings to his caregivers.
