India Waiting Child: Adorable “Ashley” is Waiting for a Family
“Ashley” is an adorable little 5-year-old girl who was born in February of 2013. She has the sweetest smile, precious little cheeks and wears purple glasses. Ashley has been diagnosed with Down syndrome. At two years of age, she received surgery to repair a heart condition known as Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). The medical information in her file is recent and gives a good picture of her current health, including various developmental delays associated with Down syndrome.
Ashley responds to simple instructions and is able to eat and drink on her own. She is described as active and plays well with other children. She seeks and is soothed by the attention of her caregivers. Ashley goes to school and participates in group activities such as circle games and imaginative play. She is also able to help with retrieving certain items when asked. She does still require some help with taking care of herself.
Medical professionals feel that she will thrive with a warm and accepting family. Please join us in praying for such a family for sweet Ashley as well as advocating on her behalf!
