India Waiting Baby: “Darcy” Urgently Needs a Family

India waiting baby “Darcy” is a precious and beautiful 10-month-old girl. She has black straight hair, huge beautiful eyes, and tender smile. She was born with spina bifida.

The long-term prognosis for children with spina bifida depends on the severity and as well as the treatment. Surgery should be done as early as possible to have the best possible results or the child risks more serious long-term complications such as infection and even paralysis. This is why “Darcy” needs a family urgently.

Most children born with spina bifida can live normal lives with the help of surgeries and therapy. Some individuals with spina bifida have long-term problems such as curvatures in the back, hip dislocations, ankle and foot deformities, contracted muscles and issues with bowel and bladder control. Most children with spina bifida have normal intelligence.
