India Program Updates
The India program is excited to announce the program has now
re-opened to new adoptions for applicants who are open to adopting a child with
a medical need or a healthy older child. The program had temporarily
closed for a few months according to CARA, the central authority over
adoptions in India, who has now indicated that the program is open to waiting
children applications. There is no estimated timeframe of when the program
might open to applicants who wish to pursue a non-waiting child adoption. There
are many waiting children so please join us in prayer for families to come forward
for their adoption. Waiting Children can be healthy children over the age of 7
or children of all ages, 9 months to 13 years old, with a medical condition
such as heart conditions, limb differences, cerebral palsy, blood conditions,
developmental delays.
Last week CARA hosted the third international
Adoption Meet, a conference that brought together agencies and government
representatives from 22 countries and orphanage and government representatives
from various states of India. Everyone confirmed their commitment to the
children and to continue to improve processes to serve the children and
families. America World is committed to working together with our current orphanage
partners as we are working with over 10 different orphanages located in various
states across India.
Please join us in congratulating several families who
accepted their referrals of waiting children over the past few months!
