Hosting Trip To Haiti
America World is traveling to Haiti on a Hosting Trip March 1–6!
The purpose of hosting trips is to meet the spiritual and physical needs of older orphans and to advocate on their behalf. We will have the opportunity to spend time with older orphans, whose ages range from 6 to 16. One of the unique benefits of these trips is team members get to interact with these children in their home environment.
While in Haiti, the team will be accompanied by AWAA staff and local guides/translators. For all in-country expenses, the total cost is $1,200 per person, which includes:
- Airport transfers
- In-country transportation
- Translators to accompany the team
- Accommodations for 5 days and 5 nights
- (1st night in Miami & 4 nights at the AWAA Guesthouse)
- Breakfast and dinner at the AWAA Guesthouse
- Cable TV, Wi-Fi and phone calls to the U.S.
- Laundry service
(Please note this does not include the cost of airfare)
In total, the trip is five days and five nights, with the first night spent in Miami. Families take care of booking and paying for their own flights. Everyone on the team needs to be in Miami that Saturday night, as we all will be on the same flight (American Airlines Flight 377) out of Miami and into Port-au-Prince that Sunday morning. That Saturday night, the entire team will stay at the Courtyard Miami Airport Hotel. America World will make these reservations. Once we land in Haiti, we will be staying at the America World guesthouse and spending time with older orphaned children. Our activities will include educational activities, Bible studies, English lessons, arts and crafts, playing sports, working on projects, etc. On each trip, we also hope to spend at least one day at the beach, relaxing and playing with the kids.
