Home from China- Medical Exams Encouraged

America World encourages families who have completed their adoption to schedule a physical for their child(ren) upon return to the United States. Though children are examined while in China, it is recommended that you have a pediatrician in the U.S. complete an examination and continue to follow up with routine check ups annually.

In light of the concerns that have emerged over the last few months regarding infant formula from China, any children who are found to have abnormal urine test results, are encouraged to speak with their doctors about renal ultrasounds.  Families should contact their physician to discuss any questions or to address any  specific health concerns.
