Please help us advocate for Mercy Today!
Mercy is a wonderful, sweet, 11-year-old girl! Although she is lacking thumbs on both hands, her nannies report that this “does not affect her life”, and that she can eat, use the bathroom, and dress herself (including buttons) independently. She is shy with strangers at first, but she warms well towards people she knows. She is a very quiet child, speaking softly and often not very clearly; she does not usually speak of her own initiative. She gets along well with the other children and adores caring for her dolls most of all. Her sweetness is also evident in her notice of her caretakers – she is helpful when she notices a need, even before she is asked, and she is described as being especially attentive and responsive to adults’ facial expressions. She is reported to have a good appetite, loving apples and bananas the best, and to be a deep sleeper. She also loves to dance to music (see attached video!) and can draw simple lines on paper. Mercy’s medical records report pulmonary hypertension, a heart shadow that is slightly enlarged, slightly delayed mental development. We believe Mercy would be such a sweet blessing to any home and would thrive beautifully with the love and support of a family!
Please take a few minutes to consider how God would have you be a part of helping this precious child, whether that is through praying, advocating, or inquiring to learn more.
