Then & Now: “He Amazes Us Every Day”
Brad & Brooke Diehl became a family of 3 earlier this year after bringing their son, Truett, home from China. This month, they celebrated 6 months since the wonderful day they became his forever family. We are grateful for the ever-growing America World family and those we have the privilege of serving throughout their adoption journeys. Please take a moment to join us in celebrating Truett ’s adoption and hearing from his parents as they reflect on all that Truett has experienced and enjoyed in these first 6 months as a part of their family.
Our son Truett is an incredible kid. He is sweet and goofy and stubborn and energetic and a genius baby. It’s strange to think that a little more than six months ago, he was living in an orphanage on the other side of the world. It’s sometimes hard to remember life without him. Truett is so strong and resilient. He amazes us every day. He learned English quickly and now speaks in sentences. He’s become potty-trained, recovered from cleft palate surgery, and started going to Mother’s Day Out. Truett loves swimming, riding on the boat, driving his vehicles and all things that “go”. He loves to eat lasagna, okra, bananas, and crawfish. He enjoys playing with puzzles, exploring with his grandparents and loves Mickey Mouse, bounce houses, going to church, singing, and dancing. He enjoys spending time playing with friends, riding in the bike trailer, and with all animals…especially his two dogs. Of course, there have been some struggles as is part of any adoption, but what a joy it is to be his parents! Praise God for our beautiful little boy!
