Great News from the India Team: Remember “Louise”?

On May 22, 2018 (last Tuesday) we advocated for 3-year-old “Louise” in India.  “Louise” has HIV and needed a family.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that “Louise” has been matched with her forever family!!

This little girl has never known what it is like to have a mom and dad who are always there for her, but she soon will.  The work now begins for “Louise’s” family—the paperwork, the planning, and the waiting, but one day soon they will be a family. Congratulations to all!

There are many other toddlers and older children in India with HIV who are waiting for forever families.

For more information regarding the adoption and care of a child with HIV, please visit our HIV Adoption resource page. Within that resource page, you will be able to listen to a webinar recorded by Dr. Patrick Van Winkle, an America World medical consultant, pediatrician, and adoptive father of a child with HIV.

If you or someone you know are praying about adopting a child with HIV, please also consider reading a blog post written by an AWAA India family regarding their decision to adopt a child with HIV.
