Get Involved in America World’s Humanitarian Aid Efforts This Holiday Season

Happy Thanksgiving from America World! I hope that you are enjoying this time to gather with family and friends to thank God for His many blessings. This time of year is always busy at America World, but we are so thankful the opportunity to join in God’s plan of building families through adoption.
You already know about America World’s many adoption services. But did you know that we also provide extensive humanitarian aid to meet the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children? Long before a child is matched with their family, America World purchases and sends basic life necessities to children living in our partner orphanages. This is an expensive undertaking, but it is necessary to obey God’s calling to “defend the fatherless†(Isaiah 1:17).
This year, America World is participating in #GivingTuesday, a national day of giving that falls on the Tuesday after Black Friday. Once you’ve got your Christmas shopping done, please go to America World’s #GivingTuesday page and help us provide for the basic needs of children still in orphanages. While #GivingTuesday is officially scheduled for December 3, our site is already up and running.
One-hundred percent of all donations will go to meeting the needs of children. America World’s humanitarian work ranges from sending clothes and toys to children living in orphanages, to providing therapeutic food that can save the life of a child suffering from malnutrition. Here are just a few examples of how you can help care for orphans:
- MANA – Children in orphanages all over the world suffer from malnutrition, and America World is doing something about it. Partnering with our friends at MANA, we distribute “Ready to Use Supplemental Food†to our orphanage partners. RUSF is a packet of highly nutritional food made from peanuts that is scientifically designed to combat malnutrition. Your $100 contribution can buy over 200 packets of RUSF that will help restore children to health.
- Ethiopia – America World’s operates two Transition Homes in Ethiopia that house around 40 children each. Children living in these homes have their basic nutritional, medical, and educational needs met, and receive one-on-one care from a staff of nannies, medical professionals, and psychologists. Your gift can help provide the resources necessary to operate this important, life-saving ministry.
- In Shaanxi, China, America World helped create an Early Education Room to help the children receive the early intellectual stimulation needed to promote healthy brain development.
- Child Sponsorship – America World sponsors over 100 children in several different countries. The majority of these children have families, but face difficult economic conditions. Your gift can support our work in promoting family stability for children in need. We hope that you will join us our efforts to care for God’s children this holiday season. –In Vietnam, America World sponsors 20 children, allowing them to attend school and obtain the food and medical care they need.
–In Haiti, we provided medicine and food for one full year for 30 children.
