Kenneth & Courtney Hammons, adoptive parents through America World, were recently featured in their local news. The Hammons adopted five year old Tariku from Ethiopia in 2010, and when he was home, he faithfully asked when a friend from the transition home would join them.
This friend soon became a brother as the family completed an unlikely adoption process to bring Teddy home just five months later. Part of the family's transition includes learning American Sign Language, as Teddy is deaf. They attend Brentwood Baptist Deaf Church, where there is a great community of supportive families who share the language and challenges.
