China Adoption Story: The Forry Family

Adoption 2-1/2 Years Later…

Liam became a member of the Forry family in June of 2016.  Soon after arriving home, his family shared about their adoption journey as they celebrated their first month of having Liam home. You can read more about their adoption journey here. Now fast forward 2 ½ years, Liam is now 11-years-old and preparing to celebrate his third Christmas with his family.

As we enter the Christmas season, please take a moment to read more about all that God has done in Liam’s life and join us in praying that many more Waiting Children would know the love of a forever family. There are children waiting today who could celebrate Christmas with a family next year!

Thank you, Forry family, for giving us a glimpse into your story and for sharing your heart for older children and the joy you’ve experienced welcoming Liam into your hearts and lives.

We brought our son, Li Ji Sheng, home from China in June of 2016. He was almost 9-years-old and had spent close to 8 years in an orphanage. While well cared-for in China, he was waiting for the chance to experience life, variety, and the love of a family. Today, our Liam is a much-loved son, little brother, grandson, nephew, friend, and student. People fall in love with him wherever he goes because of his winsome personality! He loves trying new things, playing Legos, stuffed animal adventures, and games. He loves to listen to stories and has learned to read them as well.

We would encourage other potential adoptive families to consider bringing home an older child. Don’t worry about them learning our language; these kids are quick studies! Don’t be intimidated by disability. It’s amazing how resourceful children are! Liam uses a wheelchair but gets wherever he needs to go, by scooting down the stairs or crawling around the house. Instead, imagine the ways a child can bloom with opportunity, the love of family, and the strength God will provide for the journey.
