DC Chinese Embassy Change in Visa Processing Policy
October 7, 2011

America World would like to inform families in the China program who are in or nearing the travel stage that there has been a change in the Visa processing policy at the DC Chinese Embassy.  Effective immediately, families must submit their visa application to the Visa Office of the Embassy or Consulate-General which has consular jurisdiction over that family’s resident state.  This means that the DC Chinese Embassy will only be processing Visa application for the following states:

  • Washington DC
  • Delaware
  • Idaho
  • Kentucky
  • Maryland
  • Montana
  • Nebraska
  • North Carolina
  • North Dakota
  • South Carolina
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Utah
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia
  • Wyoming

For more information on this and to read the instructions from the Chinese Embassy website, please click here.  To view a map illustrating which consulates have jurisdiction over which states, click here.  The China program Travel Coordinator will be happy to answer any questions that families may have concerning this change in policy.
